[Recommended Points]
〇 The West Area offers a wide panoramic view, and the fences don’t get in the way when taking photos, so I think it’s the best among F1 circuits!
〇 Watching FP1 on Friday while walking along the West Course is fun! To reach Spoon before the session starts, entering through the Chicane Gate is recommended! If you go to GP Square first, you’ll get distracted by the merchandise and lose time, so take a shortcut from the Chicane and quietly head straight for Spoon!
〇Find your best spot! Since seats are not assigned, discovering hidden gems is fun.
〇Recommended for those who want to enjoy walking throughout the race week. Besides fixed viewing spots, it's also nice to enjoy various viewing points.
〇The plastic sheet on the grass was perfect.
〇Friday is easy to move around freely, so I make a trek to Spoon. The ascent from 200R to Spoon runs parallel to the sidewalk, and although the sound pressure was stronger in the past, I think the real thrill is hearing the roaring acceleration of the cars speeding right beside you as you walk!
〇The Spoon Curve is especially far, but it’s a fun spot to watch the race.
〇What makes Spoon so attractive is that it’s very easy to take photos there!
〇It’s Spoon, for sure. It’s a great value spot where you can see the drivers’ skills in "running, turning, and stopping," and also watch overtakes.
〇About Spoon Curve... You can see overtakes at the Spoon entry due to traction differences coming out of the hairpin, so it’s truly recommended.
〇I watch at Spoon Curve every year! The cars charging into the curve at top speed are incredibly powerful. The course and spectator seats are close, creating an immersive experience, so I highly recommend it.
〇 Diving into Spoon. There were crashes during free practice, and the racing lines through Spoon vary by car, making it very exciting.
[About What to Bring and Preparations]
〇 In 2019, I watched the race with just a leisure sheet! Also, prepare your lunch in advance!
〇It might be good to visualize your route in advance using a map or Street View. Like which entrance to enter from and which path to take. However, sometimes getting lost and accidentally finding a viewing area can turn out surprisingly well♪ The key is to allow plenty of time for moving around.
〇 Leisure sheet, cushion, folding chair, FM radio, sunglasses, hat, towel, wet wipes, sunscreen, insect repellent, anti-itch ointment, wound medicine, bandages, jacket, folding umbrella (for moving), raincoat (for watching) *pants as well *waterproof bag and shoes recommended, even a small simple folding chair is better than none♪
〇In 2019, I brought a folding chair. It’s more comfortable than a leisure sheet. However, since it can get in other people’s way, I think it’s best to place it towards the back.
〇Wear shoes you’re used to for walking! Be prepared as it can get cold! There are fewer food and drink vendors compared to behind the stands, so prepare accordingly! Having a simple mat is also convenient!
〇With a backpack & comfortable shoes! Watching from the West Area is like trekking!
〇When moving to the West Course, wear gear that allows easy movement. Especially, we recommend wearing running shoes or other athletic shoes.
〇Comfortable shoes are a must! Someone who came in Crocs was screaming around the Hairpin. Rain is unpleasant, but keep a raincoat or poncho tucked away in your bag or backpack!
〇 Even in October, walking to Spoon will leave you drenched in sweat. Don’t forget a towel of your favorite team or driver.
〇 The West Area is rich in nature, so having insect repellent spray won’t hurt.
〇 Rubber boots are essential at Spoon on rainy days.
[Other Important Notes]
〇 Depending on your walking pace, it takes a comfortable 40 to 60 minutes for adults to walk from GP Square to the dead end of the West Area.
〇 Eat and drink alcohol in moderation. When enjoying yourself, be sure to know the locations of the restrooms.
〇 Restroom wait times are long, so go early!
〇There is no large screen, so we recommend watching on your smartphone using services like DAZN.
