Prestigious entry-level race series
A traditional participatory race at Suzuka Circuit, held under the new name "SUZUKA CHAMPION CUP RACE" starting from the 2025 season. Its origins trace back to the 1968 "Suzuka Silver Cup" series, followed by the 1988 "Suzuka Freshman Trophy," and then the "Suzuka Clubman Race" series from 1996, weaving a history of over 50 years. Throughout its long history, many fierce competitions and renowned drivers have emerged from here at Suzuka.
Some of the race categories that make up the "SUZUKA CHAMPION CUP RACE" include race series that also compete at other circuits, but the main categories will compete for the series championship here at the Suzuka Circuit.
One of the attractions of the "SUZUKA CHAMPION CUP RACE" is the wide variety of categories held, including "Super-FJ," the gateway formula category; "FJ1500," a new category starting in 2026 as the successor to Super-FJ; "Formula Enjoy," which introduced a new model in 2015; the "FIT 1.5 Challenge Cup," where drivers compete using FIT cars; and the lightweight, compact-bodied and engine-attractive "VITA" and "v.Granz."
In all categories, many drivers participate, making it easy to obtain race information and maintenance information. This race series is very accessible not only for young drivers aiming to become top drivers in the future but also for "weekend racers."
