STEP 3. What to Wear and Bring?

Of course, the basic idea is to watch freely in your favorite style, but if you’re unsure, please use this as a reference!
As the race approaches, be sure to check the weather forecast and the expected temperature for the day!

Clothing

  • (1) Hat
Because of the season, there are days when the sun is strong during the daytime, so it’s better to wear a hat. A wide-brimmed hat is recommended.
  • (2) Outerwear and Bags
If the temperature is on the warmer side, short sleeves are fine, but in that case, make sure to bring a long-sleeve shirt that you can throw on if needed.
A backpack that leaves both hands free is recommended. Also, a smartphone shoulder bag or waist pouch that makes it easy to take out your phone is convenient to have.
  • (3) Bottoms
    Comfortable pants are a staple.
  • (4) Shoes
Above all, wear shoes you are used to and that are comfortable for walking. Even if the temperature is high, sandals are not recommended. If there is a chance of rain, waterproof shoes will be more comfortable.

What to Bring

  • (1) Mobile Battery
When watching for long hours, battery life can become a concern, so be sure to prepare a fully charged spare battery.
  • (2) Long-sleeved outerwear
It can get chilly in the mornings and evenings, so it’s recommended to have something ready to put on just in case.
  • (3) Binoculars / Opera Glasses
You can clearly see distant circuit vision screens, the leader tower, pit work, and more.
  • (4) Raincoat, poncho
As a rain measure, a raincoat or poncho is recommended because it takes up less space than an umbrella and keeps both hands free. Even if it seems like there won't be much rain, it's a good idea to have one ready just in case the weather changes suddenly.
  • (5) Plastic Bags
Useful for storing towels and clothes that have become wet from sweat or rain. It can also be helpful in other situations, so let's bring a few that are as large and durable as possible.
  • (6) Seat Cushion
Since you may be sitting for long periods, bring a foldable one that is easy to carry.
  • (7) Towel
An essential item for wiping sweat on hot days and rainwater on rainy days. Larger towels with hoods are also useful for sun protection and keeping warm.
  • (8) Sunscreen
Apply sunscreen thoroughly before going out. Be sure to bring some with you for reapplication on site.
  • (9) Cash
Most stores inside the venue accept cashless payments. However, there may be unexpected situations where a store does not support your digital payment method or a payment is required, so it is reassuring to carry cash just in case.
  • (10) Radio with Earphones
Since the live commentary inside the venue is also broadcast on Suzuka's FM radio station "Suzuka Voice FM 78.3MHz," bringing a radio with earphones allows you to hear clear commentary anywhere.
  • (11) Smartphone
It is recommended to keep your ticket in an easily accessible location, as you will need to present it at the entrance gate.
Additionally, it's a good idea to print your tickets on paper just in case the signal becomes poor.
