39th Race: Honda’s New Machine HSV-010 Participates August 22, 2010

The Honda HSV-010 made its debut in the 1000km race. Pole position was claimed by Kobayashi, who debuted in GT500 with ARTA. ARTA took the lead from the middle of the race and went on to win.

Honda switched to the HSV-010GT for the season. The 1000km race was held over 700km, as in the previous year. The #8 HSV started from pole position, and despite encountering trouble midway, managed to hold on and win.

The final race was troubled by tire selection until the very end. While some teams switched to slicks in the closing stages, Weider managed to get through on shallow tread tires.

Due to the impact of the Great East Japan Earthquake, the event was held over 500km. In the rain-affected race, tire choice decided the outcome. The #1 HSV, which started from third position, secured victory in the wet race.

41st Edition: Suzuka "1000km" Resumes in Midsummer at Suzuka After 4 Years August 19, 2012

Last year, the S Road GT-R secured pole position but finished in second place. This year, it claimed both pole position and the glory of victory.

Due to the global economic recession and the impact of the great earthquake, the race distance was shortened in recent years. This year, it was held as a 1000km race for the first time in four years. Although the weather had not been favorable in recent years, the usual midsummer Suzuka conditions have returned. The #1 S Road GT-R, which started from pole position, had some contact with other cars but, with good machine setup, secured the win.

GT500 pole position went to #23 Motul Yanagida. In the final, #18 Weider battled until the late stages, overtaking #23 to claim their first victory in two years.

Starting 9th in qualifying, #36 PETRONAS took the lead in the middle of the race, and last year's winner, Rossiter, pulled away from the pursuers, giving TOM'S back-to-back victories in the 1000km.

Starting from 8th on the grid, #38 ZENT surged to the lead early in the race. Although rain late in the race threatened their position, they held on and secured the victory.
#38 Lexus started from 8th on the grid. By the 60th lap, it joined the battle for the lead. In the middle of the race, it took the lead from #36 Lexus and held on to win by a narrow margin of 2 seconds.
